Getting started as an administrator
From signup to fully protected in about 30 minutes.
1. Create your account
- Sign up at app.knoxdefender.com/signup.php with your work email, or accept the invitation KnoxDefender sent you.
- Create a password and set up two-step sign-in with an authenticator app (Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, 1Password...).
2. Follow Setup
- Open Setup in the left menu. It shows five steps and what is really done.
- Connect Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (see the guides below).
- Choose "Protect all staff mailboxes", invite your people, and keep the automation switches on.
3. Turn on the filtering gateway
- Open Filtering gateway and add your domain. Follow the five steps; mail is filtered before delivery once your MX record points to KnoxDefender.
4. Pick a restore-test mailbox
- Create a shared mailbox such as restore-test@ and choose it in Setup. KnoxDefender restores one sample message there each month to prove recovery works. Mailboxes show "Protected" only after that succeeds.
