Connect Microsoft 365
A Global Administrator approves KnoxDefender once.
Steps
- In Setup, click "I'm the Global Admin: connect now", or send the link to your IT admin.
- Microsoft shows exactly which permissions KnoxDefender asks for. Review and accept.
- You return to KnoxDefender. Mailboxes appear within a few minutes; enroll them in Mailboxes or let auto-enroll do it.
What the permissions are for
- Reading mailboxes and settings: backups, archive and threat checks.
- Mailbox import/export and folders: restoring email into a "Recovered" folder.
- Reading mail-flow rules and audit activity: alerts about forwarding rules and account takeover.
Removing access
- Microsoft Entra admin center → Enterprise applications → KnoxDefender → Delete. Your backups stay available for your retention period.
